Submissions

At Bigger Picture Books we accept books across all genres, from all over the world. 

We want to hear from all authors, new or previously published, and you don’t have to have an agent representing you.

We are looking for books that highlight LGBTQ+ stories or work from LGBTQ+ authors.

We prioritise books that promote positivity, diversity and happiness in non-traditional families.

We very rarely accept manuscripts that have already been illustrated.

What you need

You will need;

  • A brief cover letter introducing yourself with your contact details
  • A short synopsis of your work
  • Your completed manuscript (un-edited scripts are accepted) preferably as a word document

Publishing with us

Here at Bigger Picture Books, we offer two types of publishing contracts:

Hybrid Publishing

The author pays us for the services they choose, and the author keeps 100% of the royalties incurred from all sales.

Traditional Publishing

The whole cost for producing, publishing and marketing the work is covered by us and we recoup our fees through a percentage of royalties from sold books.

Your manuscript will be reviewed by our Editor who will get in touch with you within two weeks.

We review every manuscript we receive, and always make sure to reply to every submission whether successful or not.

We do not accept:

  • AI work of any kind
  • Hand written or scanned images or photographs of scripts
  • Work that is derogatory, harmful or hateful to any minority group
